Meet Nathan

ISSA-CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER | ACE FUNCTIONAL TRAINING SPECIALIST | COACH | SWIM INSTRUCTOR

Nathan Blankenship is a ISSA-Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Functional Training Specialist, and Swim Instructor living and working in Nashville, TN.

As a competitive athlete with a passion for all things fitness, Nathan studied Physical Education and Wellness at Western Kentucky University.

Upon graduation, he decided to apply his passion toward teaching children and teens about the fundamentals of health and wellness. In his 13 years in the public school system, Nathan taught physical education, wellness, and weights/kinesiology classes.

After a drunk driver left him with several severe injuries, Nathan had to apply his knowledge in a new way: To build back his strength, mobility, and balance after surgery. This experience shaped Nathan’s approach to fitness - making him more focused than ever on promoting holistic, sustainable, proven methods over fads and trends.

During his time in the public school system, Nathan served as the strength coach for high school athletes and worked on pre- and in-season programs including injury prevention and rehabilitation.

He coached football, basketball, baseball, and swimming. Nathan has also been teaching private swim lessons since 1992.

In June 2013, Nathan made the natural transition from teacher and coach to personal trainer and swim instructor. He is an ISSA-Certified Personal Trainer and an ACE Functional Training Specialist.

Nathan’s deep empathy and experience in recovering from injury make him exceptionally skilled in designing fitness programs tailored to each unique individual.

Since 2014, he has been the Personal Trainer and Manager of the fitness facility at the TWELVE | TWELVE building in the Gulch, where he offers personal and group training.
